The Pan-Mass Challenge, presented by the Boston Red Sox and Overstock.com, is the nation’s first fundraising bike-a-thon, and today raises more money than any other athletic fundraising event in the country. On August 4th and 5th, over 5,300 cyclists will travel nine different routs, logging between 50 and 192 miles over one or two days, through 46 scenic Massachusetts towns. Their goal is to raise $27 million.
The Pan-Massachusetts Challenge raises money for life-saving cancer research and treatment at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute through its Jimmy Fund. Committed cyclists and volunteers as well as corporate sponsors and individual contributors are essential to the PMC meeting its goals. Overall, PMC cyclists have raised more than $171 million, crucial funds that have improved the lives of cancer patients and their loved ones around the globe.
